40th ANNIVERSARY OF RALVON PILGRIMS INTERNATIONAL WIN AT ASCOT IN 1977.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of this wonderful Stallion’s win at Ascot in 1977. We welcome Ron and Val Males to the National Arabian stud horse show to present the President’s award this Saturday 18th of November.
RALVON PILGRIM
18.10.1969 – 22.11.1992.
Rikham (imp UK) X Trix Silver.
“His name is Pilgrim because he is going to go a long way” Val said to Ron as that chestnut colt’s head emerged at foaling, on Ron’s Birthday in 1969.
Some 8 years later, on 30th July,1977, Val wrote home from England: - “Yes it’s true – though we hardly believe it. Ralvon Pilgrim has been judged the overall winner – Supreme Champion of the International classes for Purebred Arabs at the Annual Summer Show of the Arab Horse at Ascot Paddocks, Berkshire, England.
‘PILGRIM STANDS SUPREME’ APPEARED AS A BOLD TYPE HEADING IN THE London Daily Telegraph on 1st August, 1977 … the day after Judging. This should have convinced us but even then, Ron and I were certain that we would wake up and find that the show was yet to be held.
Yes indeed …. ‘that chestnut colt did go a long way.’
ATTENTION OWNERS OF API REGISTERED HORSES
"Arabesque API sash"
Many thanks to the Farrell family of Mulawa Stud for their generous sponsorship of the inaugural Arabesque API Sash at the National Arabian stud horse show in November. This special Sash class will be a saddle class exclusively for API index horses.
These wonderful supporters have also sponsored an exclusive API East Coast cup and also an exclusive API young horse saddle class at the 2018 East Coast Arabian Championships.
Their fantastic generosity does not stop there however… They have also sponsored woollen rugs for the winners of the three East Coast cups (Purebred Arabians, Arabian derivative breeds and API horses)
The NSW AHA are extremely humbled by this extensive and generous sponsorship from the Farrell family of Mulawa Stud
